Souper Sampler Raises Over $5,100

Saturday, October 14th was the perfect day to host the 8th Annual Mayor’s Souper Sampler for Meals on Wheels! Thanks to 12 local restaurants and caterers, event sponsors, volunteers and more than 500 attendees, you helped us raise over $5,100 for programs and services offered by Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More (CSC) in Cambridge.

The panel of celebrity judges, Cambridge City Councillor Shannon Adshade representing the Mayor of Cambridge, CBC Kitchener-Waterloo Food Columnist Andrew Coppolino, and Dave FM Host Gayle O’Brien, selected Melville Café as the winner of the Souper Sampler Trophy for their Thai Chicken Coconut Soup. Second Place went to Galt Juice Company and Third Place went to Zoup! The People’s Choice Award went to The Bruce Craft House which guests could vote for using their spare change.

Our generous vendors donated 100% of their product allowing all proceeds to directly support our clients. Click here to see a list of our participating vendors and if you’re ever looking for a spot to eat, consider stopping by their establishment as a ‘thank you’ for supporting their local community.
